Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard described his team’s 1-0 win over Newcastle United in the English Premier League as tough and physical.

He made this description in a post-game interview with Sky Sports after the Gunners delivered a dogged performance to clinch the important win.

Eberechi Eze’s brilliant strike proved to be the difference maker as Arsenal ended a two game losing run in the league after losing to Bournemouth and Manchester City.

The win moves Arsenal to the summit of the league ahead of Man City with the latter having a game in hand and Odegaard was pleased Arsenal got past the Newcastle challenge.

“It was tough, very intense, very physical. We did everything we could and we got the win, the most important thing was to bounce back with a win and get over the line with the three points.”

“This schedule is crazy. We just have to keep going. That’s where we want to be but it is going to go all the way to the end. We are ready for it” Odegaard said.
