Newly appointed Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz will outline his roadmap to the FIFA World Cup when he addresses the media on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Alisa Hotel.

In a statement released by the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the media interaction is expected to set the tone for Ghana’s World Cup campaign, with Queiroz detailing his technical philosophy, immediate priorities, and expectations after taking charge last week.

The engagement also offers the first real insight into how the Portuguese tactician plans to shape the team ahead of the tournament in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

Carlos Queiroz will use the platform to:

  • Share his vision for the Black Stars
  • Outline his technical and tactical philosophy
  • Address key questions surrounding squad direction

The session also serves as his official introduction to the Ghanaian public, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the national team.

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup fast approaching, the timing of the press conference is crucial.

The tournament, set to be hosted across Canada, Mexico, and the United States, will see Ghana make its fifth appearance on football’s biggest stage.

Group L Challenge Awaits

Ghana has been drawn into a competitive Group L alongside:

  • Panama national team
  • England national team
  • Croatia national team

The group presents a significant challenge, blending European heavyweights with a rising CONCACAF side, making preparation and clarity of direction essential.

Beyond tactics and squad decisions, the press conference is also expected to:

  • Align the technical team, media, and supporters
  • Set realistic expectations for the campaign
  • Reinforce belief ahead of the tournament
