Asante Kotoko interim head coach Hamza Obeng has taken charge of his first training session since his appointment.
The former Accra Hearts of Oak assistant coach was named to lead the Porcupine Warriors on an interim basis until the end of the 2025–2026 season earlier this week.
His appointment follows the departure of Prince Yaw Owusu, who stepped down after a poor run of results, including a 4-0 loss to Medeama Sporting Club and a 2-1 defeat to FC Samartex 1996.
In a statement confirming his exit, Owusu said the decision was taken “in the greatest interest of the club.”
Owusu had initially served as assistant to Abdul Karim Zito before stepping into the interim head coach role following Zito’s dismissal, only to also exit after a string of disappointing performances.

Kotoko have slipped from fourth to sixth place after back-to-back losses and are scheduled to take on Hohoe United on Sunday, April 26.
