With two games remaining to be played in the 2025-2026 Dutch Eredivisie season, former Black Stars captain Andre Dede Ayew’s NAC Breda are in line to get relegated from the premier football division.
The club needs to win both games and hope for 16th ranked Volendam to lose its two remaining games to stay in the league. NAC rank 17th in the league and trail Volendam by six points.
Breda’s relegation situation grew further grim after the club lost its appeal to have its tie against Go Ahead Eagles replayed over the latter reportedlyfielding an unqualified player.
The Dutch Football Association rejected Breda’s case against the eligibility of Eagles player Dean James originally and Breda launched an appeal at a Dutch court but their case got rejected.
The court ruled that the Dutch Football Association had discretionary power over which games were to be replayed therefore ruling in favour of the original decision to reject NAC Breda’s case.

Andre Dede Ayew, who is the Black Stars all-time leader in appearances, joined Breda in January this year and has a goal in 15 league games. NAC take on Heerenveen on Sunday, May 10.
