“Every lesson led me here” Asamoah Gyan on appointment as National Teams Ambassador

Newly appointed Ghana National Football Teams and Colts Football Ambassador Asamoah Gyan is reminiscing on his football journey as he prepares for the next chapter.

The football legend was given the appointment by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) with Association President Kurt Okraku playing an instrumental role in his appointment.

His new role requires Ghana’s all-time leading goal scorer to among other duties embark on promotional campaigns for the country’s national football teams.

GFA President Kurt Okraku praised Asamoah Gyan for his immense contributions to Ghana football with his brilliance leading to his appointment.

Stating on his X (formerly Twitter) page, Asamoah Gyan shared how his extensive football career shaped him for his new role.

“Every jersey, every country, every lesson led me here. Grateful to Ghana…the entire football family, all my brothers on the pitch, my family,…and those who doubted me. You built me. New chapter: National Teams & Colts Football Ambassador” Gyan wrote.

The former Black Stars captain’s immediate task is to aid mobilize support for the Black Stars 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.
