Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is happy to win the UEFA Europa League once again after leading Aston Villa to win the 2025-2026 title by beating Freiburg 3-0 in the final.
The win sealed a fifth title win for Emery who has emerged as the winner of the competition on three occasions with Sevilla and Villarreal.
Villa’s title triumph came on the back of the club securing qualification to the Champions League via a 4-2 win over Liverpool to seal fourth place in the English Premier League standings.
Speaking to TNT Sports after goals from Youri Tielemans, Emiliano Buendia and Morgan Rogers secured Aston Villa’s first title since 1982, Emery said,
“I’m always very grateful for Europe. For every competition but especially the Europa League. We played it in a very serious way this year – so so focused. This final is confirmation of how we are progressing. We are getting stronger.”

“Development in everything. We are trying to be demanding, playing in Europe, next year we are going to be in Champions League. We are improving. We are playing finals. We are winning trophies. I think the brand as well is increasing.”
