Medeama Sporting Club head coach Ibrahim Tanko is already looking forward to the club’s impending campaign in the 2026-2027 CAF Champions League season after winning the Ghana Premier League title.

Tanko led the Mauve and Yellow to win the club’s second league title in its history after beating Kpando Heart of Lions 5-2 at the TNA Stadium.

The win put Medeama beyond the reach of closest title contender Bibiani Gold Stars and secured Medeama qualification to next season’s CAF Champions League.

Speaking after the title sealing win, former Borussia Dortmund player Tanko shared his excitement about winning his first major title and talked about competing in the upcoming tournament.

“I think it-preparations for the Champions League-should start today. We have to start preparing from now, there is no time. We are going to prepare very well so that we are going to do better in Africa” Tanko said.

Medeama will compete against the winner of the MTN FA Cup (Dreams FC or Nations FC) later in the year for the Super Cup (Champion of Champions).
