A former Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has been appointed as head coach of Italian Serie A side AC Milan.
The Portuguese coach was named as the new head coach of the club after Massimiliano Allegri was sacked at the end of the 2025-2026 season following a shocking run of bad form that had Milan miss out on qualifying to next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Amorim signed a three year deal with AC Milan after a turbulent season and a half run with English Premier League side Manchester United came to an end midway through last season.
After landing the big job, the former Sporting Lisbon head coach in his first presser shared that he was looking forward to the latest challenge in his coaching career.
“I feel a great sense of pleasure and responsibility in terms of being here, I was looking for a challenge like this.”

“It already feels like home. From our very first conversation, I felt this was the right place for me in terms of values. I believe in the project. “

“We have many objectives ahead of us. I won’t make many promises, our actions will matter most. I’m happy with the squad and I want to get to know it thoroughly. We’re working to bring in the best players to strengthen the team” he said.
