Black Maidens assistant coach Sumani Basiru Deen says Ghana is ready to secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup ahead of a decisive second leg against Senegal at the Accra Sports Stadium on July 11.

Ghana earned a crucial 1-1 draw in the first leg in Dakar after coming from behind, leaving the tie evenly balanced heading into the return fixture.

The tournament, the 10th edition of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, will be held in Morocco from October 17 to November 7, 2026.

Speaking to Citi Sports, Basiru Deen acknowledged Senegal’s quality but expressed confidence that the Black Maidens have what it takes to finish the job on home soil.

“There were a few knocks from the first leg, but currently everyone is okay and ready for the match. We take every game very seriously, not just this one.

“These girls have been prepared, and as we speak, they are fully ready. Their motivation and commitment levels are very high, and we believe that tomorrow victory will be ours.

Victory over Senegal would secure Ghana one of Africa’s qualification places for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and extend the country’s strong record in the competition.
