Sandro Tonali has officially left Newcastle United after signing for Tottenham Hotspurs in a record breaking deal for the London club.
The Italian midfielder joined Spurs on a five year deal worth £100 million after starring for the Magpies in three seasons.
After leaving Italian side AC Milan, the 26 year old formed a brilliant partnership with Bruno Guimaraes and ended Newcastle’s long trophy drought by winning the Carabao Cup in 2025.
Speaking to Spurs media after officially joining the club, Tonali said playing for the team was his sole aim.
“I’m very happy to be here. When I arrived at the Club today, it felt fantastic. People said about there being four or five clubs – there was only one.”

“I spoke to the Head Coach for close to two hours about the Club, the fans, the stadium and our football. It was like magic because I knew immediately that I had to sign for Tottenham” he said.

Tonali becomes Spurs’ latest recently signing after Matheus Fernandes moved from West Ham for £85 million.
