The German Football Association (DFB) has stated that former Liverpool FC head coach Jurgen Klopp is willing to take over the German National Men’s Football Team’s head coaching role.

This comes in the wake of Julian Nagelsmann’s exit from the position following Germany’s elimination from the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Germany lost to Paraguay in a penalty shootout at the Round of 32 stage at the competition leading to Nagelsmann’s exit.

However, in a statement announcing Nagelsmann’s departure, the German FA added that they were looking to appoint former Borussia Dortmund head coach Jurgen Klopp for the role.

“The corporate representatives and the supervisory board of DFB GmbH & Co. KG …unanimously agreed, on the recommendation of DFB President Bernd Neuendorf, to terminate the contractual relationship with head coach Julian Nagelsmann with immediate effect.”

“Regarding the appointment of a successor, the DFB leadership will now seek talks with Jürgen Klopp, who has already indicated his general willingness to take on the role” a section of the statement read.

Interesting to see Klopp’s willingness to take on a national role. What do you think his coaching style would bring to the German team?
