Chelsea have loaned Swedish Ghanaian defender Genesis Antwi to French Ligue 1 club RC Strasbourg for the 2026,27 season. (Scroll down to watch the video.)
The move is expected to give the young defender more first-team experience as he continues his development.
“The 19-year-old will now spend the forthcoming campaign on loan in the French top flight. We look forward to monitoring Genesis’ progress and wish him the best of luck at Strasbourg” a section of Chelsea’s statement read.
Antwi has made a handful of senior appearances for Chelsea, including featuring against Copenhagen in the UEFA Europa Conference League in March 2025.
He was also part of the squad that won the competition in the 2024,25 season under then head coach Enzo Maresca.

Born in Sweden, Antwi moved to England with his family at the age of seven. He represented England at U-16 level in 2022 before switching allegiance to Sweden, where he has progressed through the youth ranks to the U-21 team.

Despite representing Sweden at youth level, Antwi remains eligible to play for Ghana at senior level through his Ghanaian parents.
