Miami Heat new signing Klay Thompson says the team’s demanding atmosphere was what got him to sign for the three time NBA champions.
The veteran shooting guard joined the team as a free agent after clearing waivers following his release from the Dallas Mavericks.
He went on to sign a two year, $13 million deal with the Heat adding to the list of transfers for the team this offseason that was headlined by the trade for star power forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Speaking in his first official interview as a player of the Miami Heat, the four time NBA Champion said he was looking forward to the challenge.
“I know it’s a demanding atmosphere. That’s what attracted me to being here.”

“I’ve tasted winning before and there’s really nothing like it. The opportunity to win again at a very high level was so attractive to me.”

“It’s kind of a redemption season for me to show I can still make an impact on winning and do it consistently…what an honor it is” Thompson said.
