Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé believes the Ballon d’Or will remain at the French club after this year’s award nominees are announced.
The reigning winner predicted this in an interview with L’Équipe ahead of the announcement of the 2026 nominees on Tuesday, September 8.
Dembélé won the 2025 Ballon d’Or after playing a key role in PSG’s successful campaign, and he believes another player from the club could claim the award this year.
The French forward is heavily tipped to be named among the nominees for this year’s award alongside PSG teammate Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane and Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe.
“I don’t think this trophy is unpredictable. I think it will remain in the hands of a Paris Saint-Germain player” Dembele said.
Dembele followed up his Ball d’Or winning campaign with another brilliant season where he registered 20 goals and 11 assists in 40 games in all competitions for PSG.
On the international front, Dembele scored six goals for France as the 2018 World Champions finished fourth at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
