Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz says Ghana must play positive and attacking football to beat The Gambia in Tuesday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Queiroz wants his players to control the game through possession and quickly regain the ball when they lose it.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the Portuguese coach also urged the players to play with confidence and express themselves in the final third.
“If we want to win the game, we have to have the ball with us, we have to recover the ball, keep the ball with us. And after we keep the ball, we have to play with a positive mind and express our skills.”
Queiroz believes the Black Stars are close to turning their performances into results, but says they must improve in key moments.
“I am very much confident that it’s positive football, attacking football. If our defining moments get better, we’re very close to winning.”
Ghana face The Gambia on Tuesday, September 29, with Queiroz seeking his first competitive win as Black Stars head coach.
