The Black Stars have slipped to the bottom of Group C in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers after suffering a 4-2 defeat to The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Ghana took a two-goal lead through Ernest Nuamah and Felix Afena-Gyan
The Gambia fought back before halftime, and then Muhammed Badumosi scored a penalty while captain Omar Colley added another to steer the visitors ahead during a stunning second-half collapse by the hosts
The defeat is Ghana’s second in as many qualifying matches under head coach Carlos Queiroz, leaving them without a point in Group C.
The result also deepens the pressure on the Black Stars after their opening 2-0 loss to Ivory Coast.
The Gambia, meanwhile, claimed a valuable away victory to strengthen their position in the group with six points
Ghana will now have to respond in their remaining qualifiers if they are to keep their hopes of reaching the 2027 AFCON alive.
