Esteban Ocon says his Formula 1 career is “absolutely not” over after Haas confirmed they will part ways with the French driver at the end of the 2026 season.
The 30-year-old joined Haas in 2025 after spells with Manor, Force India and Alpine, where he claimed his only Grand Prix victory at the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix.
With few obvious seats available for 2027, Ocon faces an uncertain future on the grid but insists he remains motivated to continue racing.
“I leave this project with my head held high and proud of my performances in what were not always the easiest of circumstances for various reasons and factors outside of my control,” he said in a statement.
“My immediate focus is the next race weekend. I will continue to work hard with the team, maximise every opportunity, and keep extracting every bit of performance from the car.”
Ocon added that he remained “motivated” and “hungry”, with several races still to come this season.
His departure follows a difficult spell alongside team-mate Oliver Bearman. The Briton is 13th in this year’s drivers’ standings, three places and 13 points ahead of Ocon, and has out-qualified him 13-6.
Last season, Bearman also finished ahead of Ocon in the championship, while holding an 18-7 advantage in qualifying.
Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu praised Ocon’s contribution, particularly his experience during a season shaped by major regulation changes.
“Esteban’s professionalism and commitment have proved valuable as we continue to grow as an organisation,” Komatsu said.
