GCB Bank have retained the Citi Business Olympics crown after emerging as overall champions of the 2026 edition, securing their ninth title in the annual corporate sporting competition.
The bank produced a strong showing across several disciplines at Saturday’s event, winning men’s and women’s tug of war, seven-a-side football, men’s volleyball, men’s lime and spoon, men’s lawn tennis, men’s and women’s sack race, and Scrabble.
Those victories earned GCB Bank enough points to finish top of the overall standings and secure the Overall Champions Award.
The triumph marks the bank’s ninth overall championship since it began participating in the Citi Business Olympics.
GCB Bank had made clear its ambition to defend the title ahead of this year’s competition, expressing confidence in its chances during an appearance on Breakfast Daily on Channel One TV.
That confidence was backed by their performances across the various events as they once again finished at the summit.

The events included arm wrestling, chess, draughts, swimming, lawn tennis, football, volleyball, tug of war and several other sporting contests.
