Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, has hit back at Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku following his response to the MP’s criticism of the state of football in Ghana.
The MP criticised the GFA’s administration, pointing to the poor condition of football pitches and declaring that “our youth soccer is dead” during an appearance on Citi FM’s current affairs show, Eyewitness News, on Tuesday, September 22.
His comments came after Kurt Okraku challenged the MP’s understanding of football and questioned why he had chosen to criticise the work of football administrators publicly.

Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah has now responded to the GFA President’s comments, defending his concerns about the state of football and the need for reforms.

“I stand by my earlier submission on Citi FM that the current state of Ghanaian football is a matter of serious concern. It is in this spirit that I believe President John Dramani Mahama must take every necessary step to help salvage and restore the fortunes of Ghanaian football” a section of his statement read.
