The ninth edition of the Laver Cup gets underway today, Friday, September 25, with Team Europe taking on Team World at The O2 in London.
Six players from Europe will face six from the rest of the world in the three-day team competition, with Yannick Noah captaining Team Europe and Andre Agassi leading Team World.

Team Europe features Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev, Flavio Cobolli, Rafael Jodar, Jakub Mensik and Casper Ruud, while Team World includes Alex de Minaur, Taylor Fritz, Learner Tien, Brandon Nakashima, Alexander Bublik and Francisco Cerundolo.

Europe will be looking to reclaim the trophy after Team World won the 2025 edition in San Francisco, coming from behind to secure a 15-9 victory. Team World has won three of the last four editions, although Europe leads the overall series 5-3.

Europe also holds the statistical advantage heading into this year’s competition. Its six players have a combined 72-50 record in career meetings against their Team World opponents.
Friday’s schedule features three singles matches and one doubles encounter. Casper Ruud faces Francisco Cerundolo in the opening match, followed by Jakub Mensik against Brandon Nakashima and Rafael Jodar against Alexander Bublik.

Alcaraz and Mensik will then team up to face Bublik and Fritz in the doubles. The Laver Cup scoring system increases the value of matches as the weekend progresses. Wins are worth one point on Friday, two on Saturday and three on Sunday, with the first team to reach 13 points winning the trophy.

The competition runs until Sunday, September 27. London is hosting the Laver Cup for the second time, having previously staged the event in 2022.
