Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz insists Ghana’s national team is not the problem, despite a difficult run of results ahead of their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against The Gambia.
Ghana have struggled to secure victories in recent AFCON campaigns, with their last win in an AFCON match or qualifier coming on September 7, 2023, when they beat the Central African Republic 2-1 in Kumasi.
Speaking ahead of the Gambia game, Queiroz acknowledged that the team faces challenges but says those difficulties should not define the Black Stars.
“The Black Stars are facing a couple of challenges, a couple of problems, but the Black Stars have no problems,” he said.
“Like everything in life, like in the hospital, in the workshops, in the army, in the industry, in the business, you face challenges, you face problems. And our duty as professionals is to focus on that.

“So my final statement is yes, you are facing some challenges. That’s the challenge that we have in front of us, the Black Stars. That’s why we are the Black Stars.
“But the Black Stars was never a problem. The Black Stars is not a problem and the Black Stars will never be a problem.”
Queiroz will be hoping to guide Ghana to a response against The Gambia as they seek to revive their qualifying campaign following the 2-0 defeat to Ivory Coast.
