Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz has handed late call-ups to Brandon Thomas-Asante and Mohammed Fuseini ahead of the Black Stars’ upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers
The two forwards have been drafted into the squad after injuries and withdrawals created vacancies in Ghana’s attacking options ahead of the international window.
Thomas-Asante, who plays for Coventry City, replaces Prince Kwabena Adu after the Viktoria Plzeň forward was ruled out with a head injury sustained during a club fixture in the Czech Republic.
Fuseini, meanwhile, has been called up from Derby County following the withdrawal of Mohammed Kudus.
The two players are expected to join the Black Stars squad immediately as preparations begin for the qualifiers against Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia.
Thomas-Asante returns to the national team setup after previously featuring for Ghana, while Fuseini earns another opportunity to stake his claim at international level.
Their inclusion takes the number of late changes to the squad to two as Queiroz adjusts his attacking options ahead of the crucial qualifiers.
