Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says prodigy Max Dowman needs to be managed to get the best out of him in the future.
He said this after the 16-year-old Dowman scored twice in Arsenal’s 4-2 win over Ipswich Town in the Carabao Cup third round. Dowman scored in the seventh and 47th minutes in the win and played the entire duration of the game.
Speaking at a presser after Arsenal secured their place in the fourth round, Arteta shared how impressed he was with Dowman’s performance.
“Max, yeah, it’s inevitable to talk about him when he scores and he creates the moments that he has created.”

“It’s not easy, I understand but what we have to do is look after him – he’s 16 years old, you don’t see that in this league.”

“With the demands that the league, the players and everything puts on you, we really need to make sure every time we throw him in, he’s in the right context with the right preparation, and that’s what we are trying to do” Arteta said.
