Black Maidens head coach Joe Nana Adarkwa says Ghana must beat Brazil on Wednesday to boost their chances of reaching the knockout stage of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
Ghana face Brazil at the Mohammed VI Football Academy after opening their Group C campaign with a 3-0 defeat to Norway on Sunday, October 18.

Speaking ahead of the game, Joe Adarkwa admits his team must improve their finishing after struggling to convert chances against Norway.
“Our match against Norway exposed a critical area we must address, our finishing. We couldn’t shoot, and quite frankly, I don’t know why the players hesitated,” he said.
The coach said the team had worked on shooting in training and was in a positive frame of mind ahead of the Brazil clash.

He also confirmed that the starting goalkeeper would be selected after consultations with his technical team, adding that all three goalkeepers were capable of playing. Despite acknowledging Brazil’s quality, Adarkwa insists Ghana must secure all three points.
“Our objective for the Brazil match is simple and non-negotiable: we have to win at all costs. We cannot lose this match,” he said.

Ghana face Brazil at 18:00 GMT on Wednesday, October 21, before concluding their Group C campaign against Canada on Saturday, October 24.
