Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is confident Eberechi Eze will get more starting opportunities as the 2026/27 season progresses.
Arteta shared his confidence at a press conference ahead of Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League clash with French side Lille at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, October 13.
Despite winning bronze with England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Eze has started just two of Arsenal’s seven matches this season. However, Arteta expects the forward to feature more prominently as the campaign unfolds.
“Like everybody else I think they need to earn the right to play. That’s up to training sessions and when you are on that pitch to have the impact on the game that the team needs, in order to achieve that.”

“He [Eze] is going to have many opportunities to do that. His attitude is phenomenal and our players have to adapt as well to his qualities” Arteta said.
