Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola says the club is racing against time to get Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo fit for Sunday’s crucial Premier League clash against Manchester City.
Liverpool host the league leaders at Anfield on Sunday, October 11, with the Reds currently sixth in the table. The forwards will be assessed ahead of the game as they look to determine whether either player will be fit to face Manchester City.
Speaking to beIN Sports, Iraola admitted that both Isak and Gakpo are doubtful for the fixture after picking up injuries while on international duty.
“I think Alex Isak and Cody Gakpo both have had to leave the national teams with injuries.”

“Now it’s a matter of if they are going to recover in time to help us in the next game or not but right now they are both injured” Iraola said.

Five games into his first season at Liverpool, Iraola’s side has two wins and three draws.
