Germany head coach Jurgen Klopp has recorded his first win since taking charge of the national team after the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Klopp led Germany to a 2-0 victory over Serbia in the UEFA Nations League on Thursday, October 2, securing his first win as head coach and his first on home soil. Florian Wirtz scored and provided an assist as Germany ended their winless start under Klopp.
Germany had previously drawn 2-2 with the Netherlands and lost 1-0 to Greece in their opening Nations League matches under the former Liverpool manager.
Speaking after the victory over Serbia, Klopp expressed his satisfaction with the result and his team’s performance.
“Absolutely fantastic. From the first minute to the final whistle.”

“We took control of the game from the very first second and relentlessly pressured our opponents. We could have scored even more goals. It was a perfect evening.”

“This performance now has to be the baseline. This is going in my archives; we’ll use it to show the lads how it’s done.”
Germany takes on Greece again on Sunday, October 4.
