Philadelphia 76ers recorded their second win over the New York Knicks in the early stages of the 2026-27 NBA season, beating them 98-93 in the NBA Cup.
The Sixers had opened their campaign with a win over the defending champions, and head coach Nick Nurse was pleased with the latest result, describing LeBron James’ display as his best since joining the team ahead of the season.
James finished with 20 points, nine rebounds and eight assists in 34 minutes as Philadelphia secured the win without Jaylen Brown.
Anfernee Simons also stepped up, scoring 21 points off the bench to make up for Brown’s absence and Joel Embiid’s quiet night. Embiid managed just 10 points in 33 minutes.
“I’m having a great time…I’m a big-ass kid, to be completely honest, but these guys are great to be around, and I’m more than happy that I made the decision to come here” LeBron said after the game.

The Sixers have five wins in six games this season.
