Miami Heat star Giannis Antetokounmpo has called for calm as frustration grows following the team’s winless start to the 2026-27 NBA season.
The Heat have lost their opening four games despite acquiring Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks in a major offseason move that raised expectations of a title challenge in the Eastern Conference.
Miami’s latest setback was a 113-109 defeat to the rebuilding Dallas Mavericks, despite Antetokounmpo recording 29 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists for his first triple-double since joining the Heat.
Teammates Bam Adebayo and Klay Thompson, however, continued to struggle offensively, managing just eight and six points, respectively.
Addressing the team’s difficult start, Antetokounmpo called for patience as Miami looks to find its rhythm and turn its fortunes around.
“We all have to take a deep breath, and eventually, we’re gonna figure it out,” Antetokounmpo said. “You cannot press the panic button and panic because it’s only gonna get worse if you start panicking, man.”

“I’ve been in this position before. I’ve lost five in a row. I’ve lost seven in a row. I’ve won 10 in a row. I’ve won 18 in a row” Giannis said.
