New York Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns has expressed disappointment after the team suspended negotiations over a potential contract extension.
The Knicks reportedly put talks on hold after Towns sought a four-year deal worth $267 million, while the team offered a contract valued at $200 million over the same period.
The disagreement comes after Towns played a key role in helping the Knicks win their first NBA title in 53 years, raising questions about his long-term future with the franchise.
“It was news to me. Very disappointed to say the least. Let’s state the obvious: It’s business, but there is business on the court for us to handle.”

“I never thought we would get to that point but I think right now what’s best for our team is we just focus on the basketball. It’s going to be a fun game tomorrow” Towns said.

30 year old Towns averaged 15.9 points, 10.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists in last season’s playoff run to win his first NBA title.
