Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in his right knee during the club’s 4-2 UEFA Champions League win over Barcelona on Tuesday, October 20.
PSG confirmed the injury in a statement, adding that the Georgian international “will undergo surgery in the coming days”.
Kvaratskhelia sustained the injury in the 59th minute after a challenge for the ball with Barcelona’s Xavi Espart. He remained on the pitch briefly before being replaced by Maghnes Akliouche.
The winger was one of three PSG players forced off through injury, with Ousmane Dembele and Marquinhos also suffering thigh injuries. The club said both players would remain in treatment over the coming weeks.

Kvaratskhelia faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines, potentially ruling him out for a significant part of the 2026-27 season.

He scored 19 goals and provided 11 assists in 48 appearances last season as PSG won the French league title and the UEFA Champions League.
