FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) give conditional approval for the Sekondi Essipong Sports Stadium to host Ghana’s second-round Olympic qualifier against Mauritius on Tuesday, October 13.
The Black Queens go into the game with a 3-0 aggregate lead after winning the first leg in Mauritius. The approval follows engagements between the Ghana Football Association (GFA), FIFA and CAF over the suitability of the Sekondi-Takoradi venue to host the match.
Ghana will look to protect their advantage and advance to the next round of qualifying for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
FIFA has appointed Burundian official Nsabima Joselyne as referee for the encounter. She will be assisted by compatriot Niyokindi Anitha as Assistant Referee One and Ethiopia’s Defersha Sentayehu as Assistant Referee Two. Another Ethiopian, Shibre Yordanos Mulugeta, will serve as the fourth official.
Algerian Moula Slidja has been appointed referee assessor, while The Gambia’s Cham Sainabou will serve as match commissioner.
