The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee has charged Asante Kotoko assistant coach Diogo Mendes Gomes Peral over an alleged assault on Medeama SC player Ebenezer Asare.
The charge relates to an incident during the second half of the Ghana Premier League match between the two sides at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, November 1.
According to the GFA, Ebenezer Asare went to retrieve the ball after it went out for a throw-in. Both men reached for the ball, and Asare reportedly pushed Mendes before attempting to take the throw-in.
Mendes allegedly responded by striking the Medeama player and was subsequently sent off. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Diogo Mendes Gomes Peral has until Wednesday, November 4, to respond to the charge, which falls under Article 12(1)(h) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019.
