NC Special week 11: Ashantigold down Kotoko, Hearts win at Dwarfs

There were also wins for Liberty Professionals, Aduana Stars and Karela United

Ashantigold emerged winners of the Ashanti Regional derby against Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium. Mark Agyekum’s 44th minute strike handed the Miners a 1-0 victory over the Porcupine Warriors.

Following their 0-0 stalemate against Liberty Professionals last week, Accra Hearts of Oak returned to winning ways with a 2-1 win over Ebusua Dwarfs at the Cape Coast Stadium. Albert Hammond headed the host in front in the 5th minute before a Christopher Bonney spot kick before setting up Umar Manaf for the winner.

Hearts o Oak stay top of Zone B.

Diawisie Taylor scored a fantastic brace as Karela United kept the pace on Zone B leaders Hearts of Oak with a 2-0 win over WAFA.

Taylor is now the top scorer of the competition with 8 goals.

In Dansoman, Liberty Professionals beat Elmina Sharks 3-1 with goals from Simon Zibo, Benjamin Eshun and Elvis Kyei Baffour. George Amonoo got the consolation for the Sharks. The win moves Liberty to 4th place, 2 points behind 3rd place WAFA.

Dreams FC secured only their 2nd win of the campaign, beating Inter Allies 1-0 courtesy a goal from Richard Addae.

Bechem United beat Medeama 1-0 with Charles Mensah’s goal the difference. It’s the 3rd loss of the campaign for Samuel Boadu’s men but they stay top of Zone A with close contenders Kotoko also losing.

On Saturday, Aduana Stars labored to a 1-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea.

Dreams 1-0 Inter Allies
