Despite going off with a late injury in Asante Kotoko’s 1-1 draw in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday, birthday boy Felix Annan’s day did not end in complete disappointment.
Annan received a pleasant welcome when he returned to his home, as his wife, teammates and friends had gathered to surprise him with a lovely cake and lots of presents.
Annan was visibly overcome with emotion as a trumpeted rendition of the ‘Happy Birthday’ song blared in the background.
The goalkeeper, who appears to have reclaimed his starting spot this season, was forced off the pitch in the 90th minute of Kotoko’s match against Berekum Chelsea, with the Porcupine Warriors going on to concede a late equaliser.
Still limping as a result of the injury he’d suffered earlier, Annan was, however, all smiles that night as cries of ‘Number 1’ filled the air.
