Ghanaian sprinter, Joseph Paul Amoah of Coppin University, clocked 10.11s to win his 100m race in the NCAA preliminary championships on Wednesday afternoon and secure his place at this weekend’s NCAA Championships.

Amoah also clocked 20.36s in the 200m to book his ticket in the event.

Elsewhere, Emmanuel Yeboah of Texas A&M, finished 3rd in his heats with an impressive 10.09s to secure his place at the NCAA championships.

Yeboah, who represented Ghana at the 2018 African Senior Championships, is returning from injury after being out for more than a year with a niggling injury.

Duncan Agyemang of South Florida University and a former student of University of Cape Coast, came through with a 50.78s clocking in the men’s 400m hurdles to also book his ticket for the weekend’s finals.

Deborah Acquah (Texas A&M), Josephine Anokye (Arizona State University), will compete in the prelims on Thursday.
