Milovan Rajevac has nothing to offer Black Stars – Laryea Kingston

Former Ghana international Laryea Kingston has lambasted the current head coach of the Black Stars, Milovan Rajevac following the national team’s unceremonious exit from AFCON 2021.

Despite being one of the favourites, along with Morocco, to make it out of a group that also included Comoros and Gabon, the Black Stars finished bottom without a single win.

In the aftermath of the exit, which was confirmed by a 3-2 loss to Comoros, some reports have claimed that Rajevac has been sacked by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

However, no official statement has been released by the FA who have neither or confirmed these reports.

One person who believes that Rajevac should not remain in charge of the Black Stars is Kingston who earned 41 caps for Ghana.

Speaking to the BBC, Laryea Kingston was emphatic that Rajevac was not a good fit for the Black Stars and his tactical naivete cost the team in Cameroon.

“It was a disappointing performance. If you look at the team, there was no identity. How do you expect to win with no identity? Looking at all we saw in Cameroon, Milovan Rajevac has nothing to offer the Black Stars,” he said.

Rajevac’s side became the first Black Stars side to exit an AFCON tournament without a win and the first since 2006 to crash out at the group stage.
