Accra Great Olympics Football Club Head Coach Yaw Preko has praised Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu’s quality after the veteran midfielder’s recent addition to the Wonder Club’s playing roster.

He said this in an interview with CITI Sports after Olympics emerged winners of the 2022 GHALCA G6 Tournament thanks to a 2-0 win over Bechem United in the final game played at the Accra Sports Stadium.

“Look at Agyemang-Badu for instance, you know, good player coming in and he shows everybody he still has what it takes” Preko stated. (Click highlighted text to watch interview)

Agyemang-Badu started in the final against Bechem and exited midway through the second half; his trademark rasping shot from a free kick required a good save.

The former Berekum Arsenal and Asante Kotoko midfielder returned to the betPawa Ghana Premier League to join Olympics this offseason and bagged his debut title with Olympics following the team’s triumph in the preseason competition.

Agyemang-Badu spent a majority of his career in the Italian Serie A with Udinese and had stints at Hellas Verona and Turkish side Bursaspor.

He played 78 games for Ghana’s Black Stars and scored 11 goals after helping Black Satellites win the FIFA World Under 20 Cup in 2009.
