Interim Asante Kotoko head coach Hamza Obeng has described his side’s 1-0 defeat to Swedru All Blacks in the Ghana Premier League as “very painful”.
Kotoko conceded deep into stoppage time after Eric Darkwah Wiafe converted a 95th-minute penalty to secure victory for All Blacks in front of their home fans.
The penalty was awarded after Kotoko defender Patrick Asiedu fouled Baah Juniour in the box, sparking strong protests from Kotoko players who disputed the decision.
Hamza Obeng expressed his disappointment with the result after the match.
“It’s a very painful defeat. We had a lot of ball loss with our build up… we couldn’t much control with our build up and whenever we got to the creation phase that was where exactly we had a lot of problems losing a lot of balls in the middle” Obeng said.

The win over Kotoko was All Blacks’ second win in their first six games of the 2026-2027 season.
