West Ham striker Michail Antonio has called Black Stars Mohammed Salisu a “rash” in his description of the Southampton defender.

He said this during an appearance on the Footballers Football Podcast while picking the toughest defenders he has gone up against while competing in the English Premier League.

“Salisu, he is a rash. He is like all over you. He didn’t give me an inch. He was all over me” Antonio said about the 23 year old who is in his third season in the Premier League since from Spanish side Real Valladolid.

Jamaican international Antonio also stated that praise for Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker as the best shot stopper ever in the English Premier League “has gone a bit too far”.

Former La Liga competitor Salisu ranks 15th in tackles made in the Premier League; Southampton ranks bottom of the league standings.

Salisu competed in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar as the Black Stars got eliminated at the group stage and scored Ghana’s first in a 3-2 win over South Korea.
