Defending Champions, Ampem Darkoa ladies will take on 4-time Champions, Hasaacas Ladies today at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex at Abrankese, in what will be the third meeting of these two teams in the final of the Women’s Premier League.

Both teams left it late to win their respective zones as Ampem Darkoa beat AshTown Ladies 5-1 in the Northern Zone, while Hasaacas Ladies won the Southern Zone by beating Faith Ladies to reach this season’s final.

The two sides already met in the 2020/2021 season and in the 2021/2022 campaign, with each team securing a win in these meetings.

Hasaacas Ladies won the 2020/2021 season 4-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium and went on to qualify for the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League by winning the WAFU B qualifiers.

They eventually made it to the final of the CAF Women’s Champions League but lost to South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns.

For Ampen Darkoa Ladies, they got revenge over Hasaacas last season, by winning the final 5-3 on penalties after the game ended 1-1 in regular time.

They however were not able to qualify for the CAF Women’s Champions League, after they failed to win the WAFU B Qualifiers.

Speaking ahead of the game, Ampem Darkoa Ladies head coach, Joe Nana Adarkwah is confident his side can beat Hasaacas Ladies in the final for the 2nd consecutive time.

“We will come up against an experienced Hasaacas Ladies team but we are ready to run over them one more time.”

For Hasaacas Ladies head coach, Yusif Basigi, he believes his team can go on to win the Women’s Premier League for a fifth time.

” I know we had things hard to come by in the southern zone but winning the cup is not beyond us.

“We are very ready to win the League for the fifth time and qualify for another CAF women’s champions League.”

The game will kick off at 4pm and both teams will be looking to win the trophy and book a place in this season’s WAFU B Qualifiers and eventually the CAF Women’s Champions League.
