Ghana’s Black Princesses have booked their spot in the semi-final of the maiden edition of the WAFU B U-20 Girl’s Championship in Kumasi after beating Cote D’Ivoire 3-1 on Saturday.

Maafia Nyame scored a brace, while Stella Nyamekye also found the back of the net to secure all three points for the Princesses.

The result means Ghana tops Group A with six points, after their opening day win over Benin.

Maafia Nyame opened the scoring in the 14th minute of the game, before Stella Nyamekye scored the 2nd for Ghana a few minutes later.

The Ivorians after recess got a goal back in the 54th minute via Deperou Digbeu, to give the team a lifeline.

However, Maafia Nyame scored her 2nd goal of the game in the 63rd minute to make it 3-1 and ensure victory for Ghana’s Black Princesses.

Yussif Basigi’s side will face the 2nd placed team from Group B in the semifinal of the competition.
