Ernest Nuamah, one of the key attackers for the Black Meteors, has expressed the team’s determination to succeed against Guinea in the crucial final group match of the ongoing U23 Africa Cup of Nations.

In a decisive showdown for qualification to the semi-finals, Ghana’s Black Meteors are gearing up to face their West African brothers with hopes of advancing hanging in the balance.

Currently placed third in the standings after a defeat to already-qualified Morocco, Ghana must emerge victorious against Guinea on Friday, June 30, to keep their dreams alive.

The match is scheduled for 8pm at the Ibn Batouta Stadium in Tangier, Morocco.

The encounter will mark the first-ever meeting between the Black Meteors and the Guinea U23 side at the continental tournament, adding an extra layer of excitement and anticipation.

Speaking to CAF TV, Ernest Nuamah emphasized the significance of the upcoming fixture.

“It’s very important because we know if we don’t win, we don’t qualify.

We are really coming in for it.”

Nuamah’s words reflect the unwavering belief and commitment within the Ghanaian camp as they prepare to battle it out on the pitch.

The journey for the Black Meteors in the U23 Africa Cup of Nations has been a rollercoaster so far.

They kicked off the tournament with a thrilling 3-2 victory against Congo, showcasing their attacking prowess and resilience.

However, their momentum suffered a blow in a disappointing 5-1 loss to the formidable Moroccan team.

Despite this setback, the Ghanaian side remains determined and is eager to bounce back with a commanding performance against Guinea.

Guinea, on the other hand, endured a narrow 2-1 defeat to Morocco in their opening match but recovered admirably, securing a 3-1 win over Congo.

With both teams hungry for victory, the upcoming clash promises to be a captivating contest as they vie for a spot in the semi-finals.

Beyond the immediate implications of the match, there is a greater goal at stake for the teams involved.

The champions, runner-up, and third-placed teams in the tournament will earn automatic qualification for the men’s football event of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Ghana, aiming to make her first appearance at the global showpiece since 2004 in Athens, Greece, understands the magnitude of this opportunity and will leave no stone unturned in the quest for success.
