Black Stars forward Inaki Williams is in defiant mood after grabbing his fifth goal of the 2023-2024 La Liga season.

Williams scored in Athletic Bilbao’s 3-2 win over Villareal at Villarreal’s Estadi de la Ceramica with the Ghanaian Spanish born forward scoring Bilbao’s third.

All three Bilbao goals were scored in the first half in a dominant performance that had Williams younger brother Nico score Bilbao’s second in the win.

After the win, Inaki Williams, who has struggled to replicate his fine form for the Black Stars, posted words of encouragement on his X (formerly Twitter) page.

“The courage to go on. The discipline to stay focused. The patience to hope. The faith to create. The grit not to give up. The resilience to rise up” he wrote.

Williams has five goals and three assists in 12 games this season with all 12 games coming in the league; he was an unused substitute in Bilbao’s 2-1 win over lower tier side UE Rubi in the Copa Del Rey.
