You can’t always get the best results and performances- Black Stars head coach

Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton has indicated that it is tough to always get the best results and performances from Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team.

He said this in an interview with the BBC at a time where his run with the Black Stars as the lead trainer has come under intense scrutiny.

Ghana is set to play 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros on November 17 and 21 respectively.

However, the Black Stars played poorly in a 2-0 loss to Mexico and a 4-0 loss to USA in international friendly games last month leading to several calls for his exit.

A meeting with the Ghana Football Association (GFA)’s powerful Executive Council took place today but reports indicate the former Newcastle United manager will be retained as head coach in the interim.

For Hughton, getting the Black Stars to play at its best level is something that won’t always happen.

“My role as coach of the Black Stars is to get the best results and the best performances from the team. You can’t always get that. But you can always learn from your previous experiences, whether it’s good or bad. ” he said.
