Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana’s participation in the 2023 AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire has come under serious scrutiny but it looks like the former Inter Milan stopper will get the chance to represent his country at the continental championship.

A video posted on X (formerly Twitter) captured the Manchester United goalkeeper on board a reported chartered flight to Cameroon’s base in Yamoussoukro.

Onana made a quick turnaround after conceding twice as Man Unite drew 2-2 with Tottenham Hotspurs in the English Premier League.

Cameroon is set to play against Guinea to open its campaign in the 2023 AFCON on Monday, January 15 at 17:00 GMT.

However, according to sports journalist Peter Hall, Onana will miss the game due to his scheduled late arrival after refusing to report to camp as expected after Man United’s 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

Onana has had his fair share of howlers in a rocky start to life at Old Trafford after joining in the immediate past offseason from Inter Milan.
