Player exodus after African exploits doesn’t bother me – Abdul Karim Zito

Dreams FC Head Coach, Abdul Karim Zito says he remains unfazed by the prospect of key players leaving Dreams FC after their commendable performance in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Despite their exit from the competition following a loss to Zamalek in the semi-finals at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Zito expressed confidence in the team’s ability to cope with any potential departures.

Not the way we expected it to be.
We bow out of the CAFCC at the Semi final stage.

An end to an incredible journey with an exciting crowd and support nationwide.

Thank you for being part of our DREAM journey! πŸ’šπŸ™πŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸΎ#DreamsZamalek#StillBelieveβ˜πŸΎπŸ’š | #IGWT | #DFC4LIFE pic.twitter.com/OTzOByao3k

In an exclusive interview with Citi Sports, Abdul Karim Zito strongly emphasized Dreams FC’s foundational principle as a club dedicated to developing young talent and facilitating their transfer to clubs across Africa and Europe.

We have our concept seriously. We developed this young ones and then let them go to also change their lives with their family.

So we have the breeding team, we have IN-GOD-WE-TRUST and Still Believe Team there where we groom alot of talents.

And for here, we have about six players who have been with me from Still Believe and they are here.

So when you just come to play with Dreams from Still Believe, you don’t find it any difficult because the same section they take is the same thing.

So to me, I am even praying at the end of the day, about 10 of them should go.

Then we start building again.

Because what do I have if I don’t sell them? I have to sell them to also get my percentage. I also want to make money myself.

So for me about 10 players all of them should go, so then we build our own.

Several players from Dreams FC have attracted interest from clubs in Africa and Europe, with Abdul Azziz Issah reportedly drawing attention from Dutch club Sparta Rotterdam and Ghanaian side Kumasi Asante Kotoko, who are interested in securing him on loan.

Dreams FC will now shift their focus to the MTN FA Cup quarter-final match against Soccer Intellectuals on Thursday, May 2, 2024, aiming to secure a spot in the semi-finals of the competition.

Dubbed the “Still Believe Lads,” Dreams FC are considered clear favourites to clinch the title for the second time in the club’s history.
