West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen has described the timing of Ghana’s Mohammed Kudus’ goal as “perfect” with the goal helping West Ham bag an impressive 4-1 win over Ipswich Town in the English Premier League.
The win was West Ham’s first at its London Stadium this season in what has been a very poor start to the 2024-2025 campaign.
Kudus scored West Ham’s second goal just before half time to put the Hammers ahead 2-1 by reacting fastest to head home an effort that came off the cross bar. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
The goal is Kudus’ first of the season and comes at a time when his performances have come under major scrutiny following his reported clash with West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui after the Spanish coach subbed Kudus off in the 46th minute in a league game against Brentford.
In the win over Ipswich, Bowen, who also got on the scoresheet, described the timing of Kudus’ goal as perfect considering how it changed the dynamics of the game.

“Mo scored at the perfect time, because 1-1 is always a dangerous scoreline, and we spoke at half-time about getting the next goal and putting the game to bed. I’m really happy for Mo (Kudus), Mick (Michail Antonio) and Lucas (Paqueta), and I think there were good performances in defence and midfield as well.
