Team Manager of Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team, the Black Stars, Ameenu Shardow, believes that Ghana should have qualified to the 2025 AFCON based on the team’s performances in the qualification campaign.

His statement comes after Ghana failed to win a game in six outings in Group F to miss out on qualifying to the continental championship for the first time in 20 years.

Ghana finished bottom in the group with Angola and Sudan finishing first and second respectively to progress to next year’s tournament. Ghana concluded its campaign with a 2-1 loss to Niger in Accra.

Despite Ghana suffering arguably its worst qualification campaign ever, Shardow, who doubles as team manager of Dreams FC, believes that Ghana should have made it to Morocco in an interview with Happy FM.

“If the performance of the team in all the qualifiers we played is anything to go by, we should have topped the group.”

Ghana’s poor run has prompted the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council to schedule a meeting on Wednesday, November 20 with a review of the qualifiers high on the itinerary.
