Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu has praised AS Monaco head coach Adi Hutter and described the Austrian coach as one of the best he has worked under in his career.
Salisu said this in the lead up to Monaco’s French Ligue 1 game against Olympique Marseille that ended in a 2-1 loss for Monaco. He played the entire duration of the game.
The Black Stars defender recently made his return from an injury he picked up while competing for Ghana in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers. Salisu got injured in Ghana’s 2-0 loss to Sudan in Libya that all but ended Ghana’s chances of qualifying to the 2025 AFCON.
“He is similar to one of my former coaches in England, Ralph Hasenhüttl. He has the same philosophy of play based on high pressing, a style that I particularly like and that corresponds to mine” Salisu said and added that

“I feel like we have progressed a lot between last season and this one. So I would say that he is one of the best coaches I have worked under in my career.”

Monaco rank third in the Ligue 1 standings. Hutter qualified Monaco to this season’s Champions League competition after winning the Swiss Super League title with Red Bull Salzburg and Young Boys.
